Matty B. I've lived in pdx for only about a year, before that I ran a few successfull nights back in Ma. I've been mixing dnb since I was 16, so about 12 years now. I'm 1/2 of the newly formed Kung Fu DNB, who recently threw our first night Jungle Warfare. Honestly, I was skeptical of a new board, since the nwdnb facebook page turned into nothing more than just constant dupstep bashing. I'll be slowly updating my profile with my soundcloud and other cool shit. I hope this board will stay positive with the love of dnb instead of just sinking into genre bashing.

I think every board will have its issues, but I am hoping this one will stay positive though. Everyone has an opinion on everything. I always found that the old PDXDNB was not nearly as bad as Nw Tekno though, so hopefully, if there are any issue, we can resolve them quickly. And this goes for everything, not just genre bashing. I personally like a lot of different genres and that includes dubstep, so I hope we can all be open minded. This is mostly a DnB forum, but there are other areas that have been added to talk about any other kind of music you may like.

Oh and I forgot to introduce myself.
My name is Shawna. I am from OC/PDX. Lived there my whole life, but just moved to Southern Oregon to work down here for the summer. I miss my home, but it is beautiful down here.
I like to call myself a retired raver. I have been into different kinds of EDM since I was pretty young. I didn't hear much DnB until about 1999 and that was also the year I started attending parties EDM events as well. My friend Emily (Dj ET) got me into drum and bass and turned me onto a lot of different music.
I met my boyfriend back in 2001 and he was a junglist. I then found a deeper appreciation for the music. I found out more about jungle (and thanks to Kyle-T and Magneto) and sub-genres of DnB that really changed my whole life. I started playing DnB (as well as other genres) in 2001 and I like to call myself a bedroom dj because I love to mix records, but I hate playing out. I have played out a few times, but I have serious stage fright, so I tend to just keep it in the bedroom. I have been a big supporter of DnB in pdx since 2001. It has been a huge part of my life.
Eventually I started booking shows, helping out with the annual Fire party and booking the DnB stage, booking shows at 2410 and Bc's. I loved booking shows, but I wanted to do some of my own, so we started Greenman events (we is my boyfriend and I) and started doing 1-2 shows a year. Our favorites being Mutable Earth and Drum N Space. While the music was rewarding, loosing money was not, so we are taking a break until after summer to pay off some debts and take a little break from too much partying for too many years. Music is my life and has been as far as I can remember. I live and breathe and love it. I am missing PDX and hearing good music on a good system, but right now, this is what I have to do and I will be back before I know it. Much love PDXDNB homies. Miss you guys!
That is all.

Hello!! super excited for Shawna to have brought back PDXDNB first of all... next, my name is Karen, many of you may also know me as Iris... I am from the Seattle area, but also big PDX fan, especially the DnB scene. Have always found it a pleasure to visit the city and even found a few friends there along the way! didn't start in on loving DnB as early as some, though i've been involved in the EDM scene for the past 12 years or so, moving from genre to genre until really getting into DnB and wondering where the fuck my brain was 12 years ago (answer: knee deep in trance...haha).Gotten much more involved in the scene int he last 5-6 years or so though, thanks to my friend Kim and my now husband, Leigh (aka Quadrant who many of you know as well). other fun facts include me riding horses, getting degree in MFT and being the occasional DJ (will post mixes in mix forum...
